OnePlusOne is a company that helps people to build, maintain, and strengthen meaningful relationships in their life. They approached us as they were looking to create an application that demonstrated the potential of their product to gain more conversions. The idea for the app was to develop concept interactions for activities to determine what makes an individual stressed.
They already had a clear idea of what they wanted and even had designs for how the activity would look and function. They needed us to build their vision, creating an interactive version of their design to provide a clear concept they could present to the rest of their company as a working prototype.

Demonstrate Product Potential
Unlike other projects we've worked on, the app we were building for OnePlusOne was never meant to be fully developed. Instead, we were making an advanced prototype as a proof of concept. They wanted to see if their idea worked before they invested more time and money into its creation. So, the application we built had to demonstrate their product whilst leaving room for possible future development.
Interactive Activity Functions
The application was comprised of one activity that was designed to help people understand their stress. So we created an activity home screen that's clear, simple, and easy to navigate. We incorporated a concise description of how the activity works and helps users on the home screen. There's also a clear start button to lead users straight into the activity.
Screen One
On screen one of the activity, users are meant to choose from a selection of items. The easiest way to do this that maintained interest for users was to have them drag 1-6 items into a specified box. It's simple but interactive and more engaging than ticking boxes. Once they've finished, there's a clear button to press that will lead them to a results screen.
Screen Two
On screen two, the company wanted a stress comparison activity. The solution was to have users choose three words or images that describe how they experience stress or become stressed. They can then do the same for their partner. They'll then see a comparison of results to give them more information about their stress responses.
Screen Three
The third screen incorporates a slider function. Along the slider are five points, each describing how well you and your partner get along. The user can easily move the point along the slider to select the correct option before seeing a results screen.
Simple Yet Effective With React
The app we made focused on keeping the activities simple so that a wide range of people with different levels of digital skills can engage with them. However, we used a variety of different formats for completing each activity to keep users interested. We built the whole app using React, which complemented the simplicity of the product.
