PixelKin: A Retro Creature-Collecting Adventure (Trailer)

PixelKin is a retro, handheld-style creature-collecting adventure, free to play in your browser. Catch and raise over 150 original creatures, battle the eight Lampwardens and relight a sky gone dark, one constellation at a time.

Night fell over Vesperholm and never lifted. In PixelKin you play a young lamp-tender setting out from home to bring the light back: exploring fourteen lamplit regions, befriending and raising over 150 original creatures (the game calls them kin), and winning a Gleam from each of eight Lampwardens to relight the constellations one by one.

It’s built to feel like the handhelds of the late 1990s: chunky pixel art, turn-based battles across ten elemental types, a chiptune soundtrack with a remastered alternative, and a gentle, cosy story where even the dark has its reasons.

PixelKin is free to play in your browser at pixelk.in, with no install, on desktop and mobile. It was designed and built by Scorchsoft. Every frame of gameplay in this trailer was recorded from the real game
