TypeScript Development Services
TypeScript development for web apps, Node.js APIs and React applications. Improve maintainability with typed contracts, validation, testing and a staged migration.

What we can help you build
Scorchsoft uses TypeScript to build and improve JavaScript-based applications, including web interfaces, APIs and shared application logic. We can introduce it into an existing codebase or use it as part of a new React, Next.js or Node.js project.
TypeScript adds a type system to JavaScript tooling. It helps developers identify certain mistakes before code runs and makes intended data shapes easier to understand. It complements runtime validation, tests and code review; it does not replace them.
The commercial aim is a codebase your team can change with greater clarity. We focus on boundaries, domain rules and maintainable interfaces, rather than measuring success by the number of type annotations added.
Design choices that shape the project

Make application contracts clearer
Typed models can describe customers, orders, user permissions and responses exchanged between parts of an application. That helps developers see the consequences of a change and gives tooling more information during implementation.
Hypothetical example: an application changes how an approved order is represented. Useful type definitions can reveal callers that still expect the old shape. The tests and runtime checks then establish whether the behaviour is correct for real input.
The TypeScript handbook explains that types are erased when JavaScript is produced. A type declaration therefore cannot validate an untrusted API response at runtime. That boundary needs explicit validation and error handling.

Introduce TypeScript where it earns its place
A JavaScript migration can proceed in stages. We first review the application's structure, dependencies and risky boundaries, then agree which modules to convert and which strictness settings the team can support.
Adding broad escape hatches everywhere can make the project appear typed without providing useful checks. Equally, a very elaborate type design can make routine maintenance harder. We prefer definitions that communicate the business model and fit the people maintaining the code.
TypeScript can connect work across Node.js, Next.js and React Native. Sharing a language or type package does not mean every interface component or platform behaviour is reusable unchanged.
Scope, delivery and ongoing ownership
A scoped project can include a code review, typed domain and API contracts, staged module migration, runtime validation at external boundaries, build checks, tests and maintenance guidance. We preserve useful existing behaviour and define acceptance criteria before substantial changes.
For inherited systems, technical debt may extend beyond typing: unclear responsibilities, weak tests, unstable dependencies or poor deployment can matter more. Our code audit helps identify those priorities before a migration becomes a cosmetic exercise.
Cost depends on the state of the JavaScript code, dependency compatibility, module boundaries and how much behaviour needs regression testing. Bring the repository, existing tests, integration documentation and examples of changes that are currently difficult.
How we approach the work
Review the code and change risks
Identify unclear data boundaries, dependencies and maintenance needs.
Agree migration scope
Select modules, compiler settings and behavioural acceptance criteria.
Implement useful contracts
Introduce types and runtime validation where the application needs them.
Check the real behaviour
Run relevant tests, review external inputs and verify builds.
Handover the conventions
Document how types, validation and future migrations should be maintained.
Talk through your first useful release
Bring your current process and the outcome you want. We will help assess the options and the work involved.
Questions before you commission the work
No. It can catch certain type-related mistakes during development. Logic errors, unexpected runtime data, security issues and platform behaviour still need appropriate checks and testing.
We can assess it and propose a staged migration. The right scope depends on dependencies, architecture, tests and the business benefit of the change.
Choosing TypeScript alone is not a runtime performance optimisation. Its primary benefit is development-time checking and clarity; application performance needs separate measurement.
They can share suitable contracts and platform-independent models. External data still needs runtime validation, and shared contracts need versioning and clear ownership.
Often it is part of a wider application build or modernisation. A focused migration can also make sense when maintainability and change risk justify it.
