Telecoms & Enterprise Operations Software

The internal systems large organisations run on — asset and inventory management, operational portals, request and approval workflows, and the integrations that join a dozen enterprise platforms that were never designed to meet. Built by a small senior team that moves faster than a programme.

The systems nobody buys, because nobody sells them

Every large organisation runs on a set of tools that exist in no vendor's catalogue. Which engineer has which device. Which sites are due a refresh. Who approved this request, when, and against what budget. The enterprise platforms cover the general case; the specific case ends up in a spreadsheet, an inbox, or a decade-old internal app that one person still maintains.

That is the work we do here, and the pattern is consistent:

  • Asset and inventory management. Hardware, devices, licences and equipment moving between people, sites and states, with a history someone can audit later. This is one of the most common internal builds we are asked for.
  • Request, approval and provisioning workflows. The form, the routing, the approval chain, the audit trail, and the integration that makes the approval actually do something.
  • Portals for people outside the org chart. Partners, resellers, contractors and field engineers who need a slice of an internal system without a seat in it.
  • Joining platforms that will not join themselves. An identity provider, a finance system, a CRM, a ticketing tool and an inventory database, each authoritative about a different third of the same thing.

Why a small supplier for a large organisation. Internal tooling rarely wins the argument for a major programme, which is exactly why it stays broken for years. A senior team of a handful of people can deliver a working version of one of these in weeks, inside your security and procurement requirements, without the overhead a systems integrator brings. Some of this work is under NDA and is not published here — book a call if you want specifics.

Large organisations have the data and cannot reach it

The blocker on internal AI is almost never the model. It is that the answer to a simple operational question lives across five systems, each with its own identifier for the same site, asset or person. Until that is resolved, an AI assistant over internal data produces confident nonsense, and everyone concludes AI does not work here.

So the sequence we recommend is unromantic: join the data first, then put intelligence on top. Data lake development and AWS data engineering cover the first half, and Lake On Rails is our own product for organisations that want that foundation without a two-year programme to build it.

With that in place, the AI work becomes concrete and defensible: an assistant that answers questions over your own asset register, a classifier that routes incoming requests, an agent that drafts the routine documents a team writes fifty times a month. AI Opportunity Planning is the two-week version of that conversation, and it produces a costed roadmap rather than a proof of concept nobody adopts.

Rapid results with Velocity Sprints

Pay for output, not hours.

Our Velocity Sprints process accelerates your app development. Each deliverable is scoped, tracked and quality-checked in Output Units — a unit of finished work rather than time spent. You see progress daily, and Escape Hatch Friday™ means you are never locked into a sprint that stopped making sense on Tuesday.

  1. Discovery & scoping

Focused workshops define the essential features of your MVP. You'll leave with clarity on scope, timeline and budget, without delays.

  2. Sprint-based builds

Our UK developers work in short, high-speed sprints to deliver working prototypes quickly. You'll see progress fast, with daily updates.

  3. Launch & validate — fast

Get your MVP live in weeks, not months. Test with real users, gather feedback and pivot rapidly, so your idea starts delivering value sooner.

What Our Clients Say

  • Scorchsoft helped us take our idea for an app and make it a reality. Everything from the planning meeting to decide what we really needed to the project management and execution was great. It was delivered on time - early in fact - and on budget. Highly recommend.

  • We're really pleased with the work Scorchsoft has done in developing our web portal! They have been accurate with timelines and budget, delivering a solid product that allows us to monitor and manage patients remotely while they use our novel medical device at-home. The "plan - design - build" approach has worked well and saved us time in the long-run by catching requirements and issues early.

  • I'm really pleased with how my app came out, it was exactly what I was looking for. The team at Scorchsoft are great at what they do and made the whole process as simple and easy as possible. Being someone who is not very tech savvy the set up and back end operations were done in a great easy to use manner even for myself which makes using my app stress free. Thanks to all the team!

  • The new Flourish Education website has already removed a lot of manual processes, freeing up both schools, candidates and internal employees time. We are delighted with the look and feel which is clean, professional and more engaging. We are also pleased with the decision to have an HD video background on the homepage, and building immediate trust with our clients by giving them a taste of what it looks like in the Flourish Education offices.

  • I can't believe how quickly we started to see results with this project. Scorchsoft provided us with graphic-designed mockups of how the app would look once built, and we were able to sell the product for use by our first customer before the product was finished. Since launching in March, we have secured a major television network as a client who now uses Image Approvals to manage the talent approval process for their productions.

Enterprise and internal software questions

What operations, IT and transformation teams ask us most often.

We are a small senior team, and for internal systems that is usually the point rather than a limitation. The work we are brought in for — an asset register, a request workflow, a portal for one department — is the kind that never justifies a major programme and therefore never gets done. A team of a handful of experienced developers can deliver it in weeks. Where a project genuinely needs hundreds of people, we will tell you that rather than take it on.

We go through enterprise security reviews, supplier questionnaires and procurement onboarding regularly. Practically that means working in your cloud tenancy where you prefer, integrating with your identity provider for single sign-on, meeting your data residency and retention rules, and supporting penetration testing before go-live. Start these conversations early — procurement is usually the longest pole, not the build.

That is normally the bulk of the work. We integrate with identity providers, finance and ERP systems, CRMs, ticketing tools and inventory databases through whatever they expose — REST, SOAP, a database view, a nightly file, or in the difficult cases a carefully built adapter. We do not ask you to replace a working platform to accommodate a new tool.

You do. The code, the repository and the infrastructure are yours, running in your own accounts where that is your preference. We document it so your internal team or another supplier can take it on, and we are happy to hand over. Ongoing support is available if you want it, but it is not a dependency we design in.

Frequently, and it is often the highest-value thing we do. The spreadsheet usually encodes years of real operational knowledge, so we treat it as a specification rather than a mess to be swept away — read it carefully, work out which rules are deliberate and which are accidents, then build the version with proper permissions, history and integrations. See our page on turning a spreadsheet into an app.

Yes, including work for large operators that is covered by NDA and so does not appear on this site. The published telecoms case study here is Netcall. If relevant experience matters to your evaluation, a call is the right place for that conversation — we can be considerably more specific in private.
